Apprentice Quantity Surveyor Anna Crawford takes a major step this month when she starts her degree apprenticeship studies in Quantity Surveying at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN).

Anna has been working with ALA since February this year, and her formal degree apprenticeship begins on 27 September with the start of her Quantity Surveying degree.

Since joining ALA Anna has been a vital member of the commercial team on one of our international pipeline projects, primarily working remotely from our Head Office in Cumbria. She has undertaken a wide variety of tasks including producing daily reports and daily trackers for 10+ subcontractors, reviewing applications, assisting with narratives, reconciling quantities between evidence and payment applications etc.

Anna will continue to gain practical experience during her studies, working for ALA four days a week and studying for one day.

The degree apprenticeship scheme is something which is very important to me and I cannot wait to see Anna grow in confidence and technical skills and she progresses with the scheme.

Anna has already proved herself to be a hard-working, adaptable quick learner and I am confident that she will excel in her studies.
