Commercial Director Byron Tyson will be putting his construction dispute experience to good use as he joins leading meditation organisation The Mediation Specialists.
First established in 2010, The Mediation Specialists is an expanding network of independent civil and commercial mediators. It is a registered mediation organisation with the regulator of mediation in England and Wales, namely the Civil Mediation Council.
This step comes after Byron’s successful completion of a CEDR Accredited Mediation Skills Programme earlier this year. You can read more about that here.
Commenting on the news, Managing Director Tom Lamb said:
Mediation is an incredibly important tool and one that any party involved in construction disputes should seriously consider.
We expect that in coming years, more and more parties to construction disputes will consider mediation instead of adjudication.
It has the benefit that it can be significantly quicker and more cost effective to get a result, and the parties remain in control of the outcomes. This is simply not the case with construction adjudication.
Byron is taking steps to ensure that as a practice we are well-placed to support this trend. Whether it is supporting parties in construction mediation or acting as mediator, Byron’s experience and skills are a real asset.
Well done Byron!
