ALA celebrates a major win: we successfully tendered for a major commercial framework in the nuclear sector in Cumbria.

The framework means that ALA is the go-to provider for a wide range of commercial roles to our client, including Contract Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Estimators and Procurement Officers.

The framework is with Nuclear Waste Services (NWS), a subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA).

NWS is responsible for the management and operation of the UK’s national facility for permanent disposal of low level radioactive waste, located near the village of Drigg in West Cumbria. It is also responsible for delivering the National Waste Programme on behalf of the NDA and providing a range of waste management services to help waste producers follow the waste management hierarchy – diverting waste from disposal at the Low Level Waste Repository to alternative reuse, recycling, treatment and disposal routes.
