James Flood
Quantum Expert
James is a Quantum Expert with over 18 years’ experience in the industry.
He is highly qualified, having both a BSc degree in Quantity Surveying and an MSc degree in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution.
He is a Member of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (MCInstCES) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Arbitrators (FCIArb).
He gained experience in the analysis, valuation and monitoring of change on live projects and has extensive experience of managing projects on behalf of the contractor, both upstream and downstream including negotiation of final accounts and management of claims.
As well as a very strong background in civil engineering, James has particular experience in complex process projects, including major water and power infrastructure projects.
Prior to joining ALA James worked at VolkerWessles UK for nine years on a variety of infrastructure projects in the energy, water and transport sectors. Projects included:
- Manchester Metro Tram Link
- Anchorsholme Pumping Station
- Ellesmere Port WwTW
- Neart Na Gaoithe Offshore Windfarm Project
James also has international experience having worked in Toronto, Canada for PCL Construction and in Kildare, Ireland for Carillion.
James role now comprises the preparation and development of claims and Quantum Expert appointments.
As a Quantum Expert he gets right to the heart of challenging issues swiftly and presents opinions in a concise, authoritative manner.
He immediately instils a sense of confidence and clients really value his approach and the quality of James work.
His Quantum Expert commissions include major European infrastructure projects and technically complex power station disputes.
