Martin Redman
Associate Director
Martin is an Associate Director of ALA, based out of our Cumbria office.
He joined ALA in 2018 as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and became an Associate Director in 2021.
Martin provides senior commercial support on major and complex engineering projects. His most recent experience includes leading the commercial team for the Main Contractor on the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline project in Denmark, and acting as Contracts Manager on the Greenlink electricity interconnector project in Ireland.
Martin’s long and impressive career has included many high value and significant projects, including:
- mixed use developments in Oman (US$1.8b),
- Wastewater treatment plants in UAE (US$101m); Singapore (USS$28m) and the UK (US$53.5m),
- Football Stadium in Qatar (QAR 3 Billion), and
- Turnaround project on an Exxon Mobil refinery in Texas (US$58m)
- Earthquake recovery / rebuild in New Zealand (US$220m programme of work)
- High rise office / commercial complex in Indonesia (US$148m)
Martin’s approach is proactive, with a will to get the job done. He is adept at formulating the necessary strategies to successfully undertake and complete the quantity surveying, contract administration and control functions on major and complex projects. He has experience with most types of standard main contracts and subcontracts and has worked with a variety of bespoke contracts.
Martin is a member of ALA’s Training Committee and takes an active role in training and mentoring our junior staff.
Away from work Martin is interested in most sports, particularly football. He also enjoys travel, walking and gardening.
