Nigel Jackson
Associate Director
Nigel is an Associate Director of ALA, based out of our Cumbria office.
He acts as a Commercial Consultant, Claims Consultant and Quantum Expert.
Nigel joined ALA in 2019 and was made an Associate Director in 2021.
He has a first-class honours degree in quantity surveying for which he received an award from the CIOB for outstanding performance. Nigel is currently studying for a Masters in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution. He was recently made a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIARb) and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors (MCInstCES).
Nigel has been involved with claims on large scale construction projects, including a luxury high-rise residential development in London, a cross-country pipeline in Cumbria, and full-fibre internet rollout in Tyneside. Nigel has the ability to integrate seamlessly with client teams and produces work to the highest standards.
His recent expert appointments include a luxury apartment refurbishment in London the installation of a 3G football pitch in Yorkshire.
Nigel’s early background working ‘hands-on’ as a groundworker at a civil engineering contractor provides him with a firm understanding of the technical aspects of construction. He also gained extensive practical experience of civil engineering as a Project Manager. These experiences mean Nigel has solid practical experience to complement his commercial skills.
Outside of work, Nigel can usually be found making noise in his garage on a variety of musical instruments or spending time with his young family.
