I joined ALA in May 2019, after a short spell in Kirkby Lonsdale I was the first member of the ALA team to be based in their new Warrington office. The Warrington office has steadily grown over the last eighteen months and is continuing to expand reflecting the drive and desire to expand the business from this strategic location.
I became an Associate Director of ALA in 2021, and I am thrilled to be contributing to the development of the business.
Most recently I have been involved with a refit project on a Type 45 Destroyer, at a major shipyard, a first for me and for ALA to enter the world of shipbuilding.
Prior to joining ALA I had worked for a small number of Consultancies including James R Knowles and Blake Newport. I have also worked as a Commercial Manager for a well known Mechanical and Electrical contractor.
I have gained experience in traditional Quantity Surveying, together with active roles in claims preparation, defence in both adjudication and arbitration, together with a major procurement commission in the nuclear industry. Since joining ALA I have been involved in schemes ranging from discrete disputes to complex major construction and energy from waste projects; on forms of contract including JCT, NEC and bespoke forms.
I have a passion for travel and have been fortunate to travel extensively through Europe and Scandinavia in my career, together with most corners of the United Kingdom. My spare time is spent primarily with family, and competing in badminton tournaments as far afield as Japan. I enjoy cycling and am considering moving from pedal power to bikes with engines!
