I took over as Managing Director of ALA in November 2017, following the passing of my father Adrian Lamb.
I come from a legal background, having trained as a solicitor at London law firm, Fladgate LLP, where I specialised in Commercial Property, before joining the family business in 2014.
As well as being responsible for the management of the company, I also act as a senior commercial consultant and have worked on a diverse range of claims, being heavily involved in the contractual/entitlement elements, preparation of claim narratives and the management of claims through adjudication.
Utilising my legal background, I prepare briefing papers for Counsel advice on technical legal matters and act as a liaison when the company works with law firms. When not directly involved in claims work, I also provide internal peer-review of claims prepared by others in our team.
I also enjoy using my contractual knowledge to carry out pre-contract commercial risk reviews of proposed contractual documents, identifying both ways to minimise risk and identifying any potential commercial opportunities.
I have particular experience working with the JCT Design and Build form of contract, although I regularly work with other contracts, including NEC and FIDIC.
In my spare time, I enjoy trail running and hope to one day complete an ultra-marathon. However, two young children leave little time for training!
