A Lamb Associates Limited

ALA welcomes new people to the team

ALA welcomes two new people to our growing team, Sean Galpin and Anna Crawford. Both will be working alongside our existing team in Kirkby Lonsdale and Warrington; providing exceptional commercial services and support to clients on a number of projects in the pipeline sector.

Sean Galpin – Senior Quantity Surveyor

Sean is highly qualified Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience, 20 of which have been specialising in complex infrastructure, rail and engineering projects of a value up to £1.2 billion.

Sean has a HND in Engineering Surveying and a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with both MRICS and MCInstCES.

His previous experience includes undertaking major infrastructure projects with tier one contractors Mowlem, Alfred McAlpine, Edmund Nuttall, Balfour Beatty, Babcock Rail, and Network Rail, undertaking various complex schemes; as well as working on a consultancy basis for Systech, Capita and A. Lamb Associates.

Sean’s experience working for major contractors, clients and consultants has provided insight from all angles. He brings a wealth of experience in managing commercial teams, the application of the NEC, and specialist knowledge of the rail and infrastructure sectors.

Sean is based in the North West and will join our expanding team at our Warrington office in Birchwood Park.

He will initially be working on a major cross country pipeline project in the water industry.

“I am delighted to welcome Sean to ALA. Having worked alongside him previously I am thrilled that he has joined us at this time. I am confident he will contribute significantly to our clients and ALA’s continued success and growth.”

 Anna Crawford – Apprentice

Anna joins us as an Apprentice to assist one of our teams working on a major pipeline project in Denmark.

Hearing about our degree apprenticeship opportunities in quantity surveying, Anna originally got in touch with ALA to express an interest in being considered for the next intake. After completing her A-Levels, Anna had planned on having a gap year; however the COVID pandemic made that difficult.

Building on previous work experience and an interest in a quantity surveying career, Anna researched the different options available to her. The benefits of doing a degree apprenticeship outweighed the traditional full time university route.

An exciting opportunity to provide commercial support to one of our existing projects became available, and we’re thrilled to be able to offer Anna this role.  Working alongside an established ALA team, Anna’s involvement will provide an excellent insight and experience to the world of quantity surveying.

This will provide a good understanding in readiness for Anna to commence the degree apprenticeship scheme later this year.
