NMPP Pipeline, South Africa

The NMPP is among the largest multi-product pipelines in the world, and one of the most complex, spanning a distance of 715km.

We provided commercial and planning staff to administer the project and prepare specialist pipeline claims.

The matters in issue included lack of availability of suitable quality line pipe, access problems and lock-outs, excavation and backfill issues, crossing re-designs and variations, additional special sections and delay and disruption and extension of time.

In order to resolve the issues without formal proceedings the parties engaged Mr Adrian Lamb to act as adjudicator, deciding the correct amount to be paid under the Contract in respect of the disputed matters.
